I always felt like Jake and I were a team. Whenever there was a decision to be made, we worked together, and I believed that was our superpower. Well, it was like that until I learned my husband mocks me in front of his friends and the entire online community.<\/p>\n

When our daughter was born, who is autistic and needs the type of attention and care the kindergarten couldn\u2019t provide, Jake and I decided it would be for the best if I quit my high-paying job in marketing and be with Lily.<\/p>\n

The thought of being a stay-at-home mom scared me. I loved my job and everything about it, but Lily was more important than anything.<\/p>\n

At first, I had a hard time getting used to the new life, but over time, I learned to enjoy the baking, the cooking, and the work around the house.<\/p>\n

Jake was thankful for the sacrifice I made for the sake of Lily, or at least that\u2019s what I thought.<\/p>\n

One day, while vacuuming his home office, I noticed his computer was on and his Twitter feed was open. I glanced at the screen and the word \u201c#tradwife\u201d caught my attention.<\/p>\n

There were photos of me pulling cookies from the oven, baking, and a lot more.<\/p>\n

As I scrolled further, I learned my husband mocks me online, presenting me as a cheerful, traditional homemaker who gave up her career willingly and replaced the office for the kitchen.<\/h2>\n

Photos of me with the apron on kept popping up as I scrolled through his account. Not once did he mention that the real reason behind my decision to be a stay-at-home mom was because of our autistic daughter.<\/p>\n

I felt betrayed. Anger settled in my heart.<\/p>\n

I took a bunch of screenshots from Jake\u2019s humiliating posts and confronted him.<\/p>\n

Why would you stereotype me for strangers\u2019 likes and comments, Jake?\u201d I asked, crushed.<\/p>\n

He tried to defend himself, saying those were just silly posts. He didn\u2019t mean it was anything serious, he just had fun online and never meant to hurt my feelings.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo, Jake, you disrespected the sacrifice I am making for this family and a simple sorry isn\u2019t enough,\u201d I said, feeling hurt and humiliated.<\/p>\n

He took his phone out and deleted his Twitter account, but the damage was already done.<\/p>\n

I wanted everyone to know what my husband thought of everything I did for the family so I posted the screenshots of his posts on my Facebook account. \u201cEver discover your husband mocks you behind your back to his friends?\u201d I captioned the post.<\/p>\n

As expected, my friends and family messaged me and called me on the phone to make sure I was okay.<\/p>\n

Now, it was Jake who was humiliated for treating me the way he did.<\/h2>\n

He begged me to forgive him, but I couldn\u2019t, at least not right away.<\/p>\n

It took a lot of time before I started trusting him again.<\/p>\n
