To honor their father\u2019s last wish, two young girls visit his grave on his birthday to show him their cute new dresses.<\/p>\n

Near the headstone, they spot two beautifully wrapped boxes with their names on them, not knowing what surprises are inside.<\/p>\n

Six-year-old Isla and her sister, Madison, who is eight, missed their dad, Brian, deeply. Since he had passed away, their lives felt different.<\/p>\n

They no longer sneaked cookies and ice cream from the kitchen at night, teamed up to tease their mom, or went shopping like they used to. Without Daddy Brian, those little adventures just weren\u2019t the same.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou\u2019re spoiling those girls, Brian!\u201d his wife, Linda, would often say with a laugh.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhy do you always gang up against me? I know you\u2019re sneaking them treats from the pantry!\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/div>\n

\u201cWell, I\u2019ll spoil them for the rest of my life!\u201d Brian would say, smiling widely. \u201cThey will always come first for me as long as I live! I\u2019m sorry, honey, but you\u2019ve got competition! And you know, I love all my girls\u2014including you,\u201d he\u2019d say, hugging her.<\/p>\n

Brian was that kind of person, always balancing everything with love. He was the perfect family man. But after he passed, everything changed. Isla and Madison grew quiet, and Linda, his wife, struggled to cope with his loss.<\/p>\n

One of Brian\u2019s last wishes was for his girls to visit him on his birthday, wearing their best outfits. \u201cI want my little girls to look their prettiest. You must promise to visit me,\u201d he had said. So, the day before his birthday, the girls asked Linda to take them shopping.<\/p>\n

\u201cMommy,\u201d Isla said, \u201cDaddy loved my red dress. He got me one for my birthday. I want a red dress.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYou can pick for me, Mom,\u201d Madison added. \u201cI want it to be Dad\u2019s favorite color.\u201d<\/p>\n

Linda hesitated, still in grief. \u201cI\u2014I don\u2019t think I can, girls,\u201d she said, trying to avoid the topic.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut we need to visit Daddy!\u201d Isla insisted. \u201cHe wanted us to wear something pretty on his birthday.\u201d<\/p>\n

Linda\u2019s heart softened, realizing she\u2019d forgotten his birthday. \u201cWhat did he ask you?\u201d she asked, teary-eyed.<\/p>\n

\u201cDaddy wanted to see us in pretty dresses on his birthday,\u201d Isla replied. \u201cWe have to go shopping, Mommy!\u201d<\/p>\n

Linda hadn\u2019t known this was Brian\u2019s last wish. Madison explained, \u201cThe night before he died, he held our hands and asked. Please, Mom? Isla misses Daddy a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madison was wise for her age, sensing how important this was. Finally, she convinced Linda to go shopping.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlright,\u201d Linda said. \u201cLet\u2019s get you both the prettiest outfits so Daddy knows what he\u2019s missing!\u201d She burst into tears, and her daughters hugged her.<\/p>\n

\u201cDad wouldn\u2019t want you to be sad, Mom,\u201d Madison whispered.<\/p>\n

The next day, on Brian\u2019s birthday, the girls dressed up and walked hand-in-hand to his grave, with Linda following behind.<\/p>\n

When they reached his grave, they spotted two wrapped boxes with their names on them. A small note on top said they were from Brian.<\/p>\n

\u201cMommy!\u201d Isla called out. \u201cLook, Daddy left us gifts! He\u2019s so silly\u2014he doesn\u2019t know we should give him gifts on his birthday!\u201d<\/p>\n

Madison exchanged a glance with Linda, understanding that the gifts couldn\u2019t really be from Brian.<\/p>\n

Inside each box was a lovely pair of pink Mary Janes and a letter from Brian.<\/p>\n

\u201cShoes!\u201d Isla exclaimed. \u201cMy favorite color!\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cMy prettiest girls,<\/p>\n

The angels here say you\u2019re the most beautiful girls ever. I wanted to make you even prettier, so I picked these shoes. I hope you like them.<\/p>\n

Remember, I\u2019m not around you, but I\u2019m always in your heart. I know you\u2019re not sneaking cookies anymore. Don\u2019t tell Mommy, but I saw her filling the pantry with cookies again! Next time, I want to hear stories about how you managed to sneak some. Just because Daddy isn\u2019t there doesn\u2019t mean you have to be perfectly good all the time.<\/p>\n
