Man Makes Home Pink And Angry Neighbors Can\u2019t Do Anything About It<\/p>\n
They say that how you design your home can tell a lot about your personality. And once upon a time, the homes that line the street of Mountain View in Pflugerville, Texas look like your typical abodes. Residents here are used to seeing white, beige, and gray house. But all of that changed when Emilio Rodriguez moved in.<\/p>\n
Emilio survived a horrific car accident when he was just four-years-old. However, that left him permanently paralyzed from the waist down. And during his entire adulthood, he has been undergoing a series of surgeries. And today, he is wheelchair-bound and this house is going to be a part of the \u2018Keep Austin Weird\u2019 vibe.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Despite the many obstacles that he had to tackle in his life, there\u2019s always been one thing that makes him smile and feel a whole lot better \u2013 the color pink!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
And while he was dealing with his medical issues, Emilio found that the color pink is calming and mood-boosting. That is why when Emilio finally bought his dream home in Pflugerville two years ago, he knew what he had to do and that is to color it pink. In fact, his family members and girlfriend begged him not to paint the house in this color. But Emilio is determined to follow his gut.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Emilio found the perfect shade for his dream home as Inspired by the bright colors in his tattoos. So Emilio proceeded to have the house painted in the shade of Pepto-Bismol-pink. But it\u2019s not just for accents. He covered his entire house with it. In fact, he was going for a \u201cwet slime\u201d look.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
He said, \u201cI did the back first, the whole back of the house. Then I did the whole house. \u201d He also explained that a house that is painted in such a way was his dream home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
But Emilio is not done. He even plans to add a pink-tiled driveway and also pink spotlights in the yard. Not only that, he is thinking of painting his wheelchair pink, too!<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
While Emilio is happy with how the pink home turned out, many of his neighbors are not thrilled about his pink house. Many of them think that it sticks out and not in a very good way. But he doesn\u2019t care about what his neighbors or other people think and say about his house.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
His annoyed neighbors will not be able to faze him. He said that he chose this particular neighborhood because for one reason \u2013 there was no homeowners\u2019 association that can stop him from his plans for his home.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
He further explained, \u201cNo HOA. No HOA. I pre-planned this specifically because of that reason. So when people get mad, I explain there is no HOA here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Since his pink house is very unique, it has now gone viral on social media, he also noticed the positive and negative things that came with it. Some surely loved it, however, Emilio says he has received threats and nasty comments too. His neighbors who disagree may turn to a lawsuit and try to press the issue.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
Still, Emilio does not see this as a big deal. All he cares about is that he loves this house and he just doesn\u2019t understand why other people don\u2019t like it.<\/p>\n
