Fortunately, a kind Reddit user thought of the best possible answer: pet. \u201cThese kinds of worksheets try to make the last one more difficult by switching the sound of the letter to the end of the word to try and throw the kid off,\u201d the person\u00a0said.<\/p>\n
Grade 3 Math Problem<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/figure>\nMath problems for elementary students are often easily computed with all the numbers given in the problem. However, a Grade 3 student had to solve the\u00a0question, \u201cJanell had 15 marbles. She lost some of them. How many does Janell have now?\u201d<\/p>\n
One Reddit user suggested that the answer was less than 15\u00a0but did not think it was a fair question for someone in the third grade. Other users\u00a0believed\u00a0that the student should answer in a similar manner as the question, such as \u201cJanell lost her marbles.\u201d Another user\u00a0said, \u201cShe has some left.\u201d<\/p>\n
A Six-Year-Old\u2019s Homework<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/figure>\nWhile some educational problems for six-year-olds are visual, one student\u2019s assignment was beyond the comprehension of her parents. On her activity sheet appeared a print of a paint splatter and several apples.<\/p>\n
The question\u00a0read, \u201cHow many apples could be covered by the paint. There cannot be more than 20.\u201d Several Reddit users were also\u00a0confused\u00a0by the question, while one believed it was a\u00a0riddle.<\/p>\n
Grade 1 Math<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/figure>\nOne Twitter user shared a Singaporean\u00a0math problem\u00a0for grade one students, and it seemed almost impossible to solve. However, one person\u00a0solved the problem\u00a0but tweaked the question a bit.<\/p>\n
Another Math Problem<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/figure>\nAnother math question was posted on Twitter, leaving people confused. The question made students calculate the\u00a0perimeter of a shape\u00a0best on the calculations of another rectilinear shape.<\/p>\n
One person replied to the post with a complicated answer and sarcastically\u00a0said, \u201cIt\u2019s very much justified to ask these to a [ten-year-old].\u201d<\/p>\n
Solving for X<\/strong><\/h2>\n<\/figure>\nMath can sometimes be complicated but often has one solution. However, this one math problem was too complex for the Twitter world.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn orchestra of 120 players takes 40 minutes to play Beethoven\u2019s 9th Symphony. How long would it take for 60 players to play the symphony? Let P be the number of players and T the time playing,\u201d the question\u00a0read. While it may be too complex, one Twitter person\u00a0replied:<\/p>\n
\u201cThe math is irrelevant in the case of this Beethoven 9 problem. As a performer who has performed it many times, the speed of the symphony is NOT a function of the number of musicians performing it.\u201d<\/p>\n
